New patients gain access to care depending upon their level of oral health through four portals: Emergent Care, Continuing Care, Complete Care, and Wellness.

INSURANCE & FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS |
 |
Michael Dougherty Dentistry puts the quality and completeness of your dental care above all else. Your needs and interests, not those of your insurance company, determine your treatment plan. Thus, we prefer to remain a fee-for-service practice, and we will help you design the best treatment plan for your budget.
Our staff will help you file claims with your insurance company and help arrange for you to get the most out of your dental benefits. Our aim is to give you the dental care you need in a way that you can afford.
We accept all major credit cards and we will gladly assist you in applying for easy payment financing with Care Credit®. We give discounts for complete payment at the time of service with cash or check for treatment over $2000.

NEW PATIENT EXPERIENCE |
 |
New patients are welcomed! New patients may fill out the New Patient Forms or call our office at (303) 369-1069 for an appointment. We will complete a thorough review of your medical and dental health history while you are in our office. The New Patient Form allows us to research your dental benefits and prepare you better for your first appointment. Our new patient dental examination includes:
- Complete series of digital radiographs
- Recording and recommending corrections for worn teeth and inadequately sealed restorations
- Assessment of the appearance of the smile
- Video tour of the mouth and associated structures that the patient can review
- Preventive oral cancer examination and lymph node check
- Recommendations for correction of worn and inadequately sealed restorations
- Measurement and treatment of dangerous periodontal pockets
- Identification of tooth decay, unstable teeth with fractures, and abscesses
- A functional evaluation of the bite, biting habits (such as bruxing and clenching), and temporomandibular joint health
- An evaluation of bite-related head, neck, and shoulder pain
- Airway evaluation for snoring problems, speech difficulties, and tooth position
- Solutions for sensitive root surfaces, gum recession, and root surface notches
- A review of options for tooth/crown replacements, stabilizing drifting teeth, retaining wisdom teeth, and loose dentures, including dental implant stabilization
- An evaluation of the need for dental material compatibility testing
We recommend that most new patients have a sit down consultation that includes a written copy of their prioritized dental health needs (also available to them individually on-line), options for treatment, advantages and disadvantages of treatment options, and costs of individual treatments. We work with our patients to help them attain the highest level of dental health possible. Our continuous monitoring of patients’ available annual dental insurance benefits aids patients’ financial planning. Preauthorizations for pending treatments, billing of dental insurance claims, follow-up calls and narratives, and recall notifications are all part of our service to our patients. We also offer long term financing through a third party, if needed. Our office team looks forward to meeting you and helping you with your dental care. |
